Our topical products, Rubbit and Body Balm, will not cause you to fail a drug test when applied topically. Our Drops product line and any other full spectrum CBD product on the market intended for internal use may cause a positive result for THC. If you have concerns about testing, we would suggest you not take any full spectrum CBD product internally.
Let’s go back to our definitions: Cannabis is the plant genus; “Hemp” and “Marijuana” refer to different expressions of the plant. While both hemp and marijuana share the same cannabis sativa name, they have different biochemical properties. There are also different expressions within the hemp designation, but they all share a simple legal definition: They contain less than 0.3% THC by dry weight. Marijuana is any cannabis plant that produces more than 0.3% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive compound.
Remember our definitions: CBD Oil is an extract containing CBD (along with other phytochemicals if it is full spectrum); Hemp Seed Oil is an oil extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains only trace amounts of CBD; Hemp Oil is a broad term that could include CBD Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, or both. This is where the buyer must beware and understand the exact definition of Hemp Oil by producer and product. Many unscrupulous vendors label their products as Hemp Oil with a big price tag but only give you Hemp Seed Oil with little to no CBD. Other vendors may mean well, but are using the term Hemp Oil to get around rules and regulations. This is not truth in labeling and is not honest and transparent. This is a huge disservice to you, the customer. Only purchase verified CBD content! See our FAQ on Testing.
One of the top questions we get asked is, “How can I tell how much CBD is in a product”. There is a lot of confusion about labeling mg of hemp extract vs. mg of CBD. Many producers have taken all mention of “CBD” off their labels and substituted it with the words “Hemp Extract”, generally in an effort to circumvent the rules and regulations that the federal government, credit card gateway providers and large online stores operate under. You must know the % concentration of CBD in that hemp extract in order to know the actual amount of CBD you are paying for. You must have access to third-party test results for strength of CBD BEFORE you buy.
Test results are the cornerstones of quality and transparency. Frogsong Farm (FSF) prides itself in having the highest standards for quality, purity and potency. FSF extracts and products are third-party tested for Cannabinoid Profiles, Pesticides, Heavy Metals, Screening, and Residual Solvents. For our latest results, see our Test Results Section.
While CBD derived from hemp and below the 0.3% THC content level should clear the travel limitations, we can’t be responsible for your travel experience. Please reference the official TSA stance on this.
Before you buy CBD products online, it’s worth comparing the options from a few different companies. What is their price per milligram of CBD content? Do they provide third-party test results for all their products? What ingredients do they use? Where do they source their hemp? Was it grown using organic methods? There are a number of online forums where customers can share success stories and offer product recommendations. While there are plenty of low-quality CBD oil extracts circulating, there are also a number of companies that follow good business practices and provide high-quality, reliable CBD products. The more you know about where your CBD comes from, the more time and money you will save in the future!
Frogsong Farm came about at the confluence of several wonderful things: our love of the earth, the growing of green things, and improving the health of the soil; our desire to do something good for people (and for critters too) to ease their pain through natural and benevolent methods; and the realization of a lifelong dream to work with family and friends doing something meaningful and fulfilling. And while we have a long way to go to be the company we want to be and accomplish all the good we want to accomplish, we have now completed a few of the most important steps as we begin our journey. We have grown and harvested our second crop of beautiful craft hemp plants (from seeds bred locally in Oregon), using all-natural and sustainable cultivation practices. We extract the lovely cannabinoids and terpenes from our hemp using only organic ethanol. We turn that extract into a small line of incredibly effective products using only organic or all-natural ingredients. We are the very first B-Corp certified CBD company and are in the midst of the Organic certification process. And we have received many rave reviews from our customers and friends. Finally, we back up all of our products with third-party testing and our ironclad guarantee.
We name our extract Frogsong Farm Full Spectrum CBD Hemp Extract to indicate the quality and the source of our CBD. Full Spectrum – we carefully extract all the cannabinoids and terpenes; CBD – is the primary constituent; Hemp – It only comes from our certified craft hemp plants. Extract – We use organic, food-grade ethanol for pure and safe extraction. This ensures you know it is clean, high-quality CBD from the legal hemp plant. All backed up by third-party testing.
