First, the big news!
For many months there’s been a growing buzz of anticipation, and we’re thrilled to announce that Frogsong Farm’s newest product, Body Balm, has launched! This light and absorbent aloe-based rub boasts the same CBD content as the Rubbit salve. We now have two distinct, complementary offerings for full-spectrum CBD body care. They are must-haves for inflamed joints, sore muscles, and localized aches and pains of all kinds.

Body Balm is a convenient on-the-go option, thanks to its light texture and fast absorption. It is ideal for early mornings before heading to the office, sunny days spent outdoors, or any time you prefer a water-based option to protect nice clothing or gear. Aloe is known for its skin calming benefits. But did you know that it is also rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and even has antibacterial and antifungal properties? Aloe is an amazing plant and we are excited to combine it with our FSF-grown craft hemp for a soothing and pain-relieving body rub.
Body Balm has only 3 ingredients: organic aloe vera gel, FSF full-spectrum CBD, and a touch of lemon verbena essential oil. The aloe vera in Body Balm is water-based and has a much thinner consistency than oil-based Rubbit. We don’t add any thickeners or gelling agents in order to keep our product as pure and uncomplicated as possible. The thinner consistency aids in rapid absorption and a residue-free application once dry. It goes on easily and dries very quickly, leaving the skin refreshed. Remember, a little goes a long way, so use only as much as you need.
Body Balm is available in two strengths now on our web store. Try it out and let us know what you think.

Rubbit is our oil based salve which performs best when skin conditioning is also desired. Imagine recovering from a long day exposed to snow and wind, coming inside after working in the garden or winding down after a rigorous workout. Use Rubbit salve for inflamed, painful areas; dry skin; or a luxurious, spa-like experience.
The savvy CBD user will want to keep both Body Balm and Rubbit on hand.

Business, Behind the Scenes
We sometimes get asked why we don’t offer more frequent sales on our CBD products. We’d like to share some insight regarding our retail pricing and the frequency with which we offer coupons.
When we launched Frogsong Farm in 2016, our pricing was about 50% higher than it is today. This original pricing was based on in-depth price research into what many similar CBD products were being sold for. Our goal was to price our products in the mid-range even though they tend to be stronger and more pure than much of what’s available. While our 2016 prices were fairly priced when compared to other premium CBD products, we struggled with the idea of our CBD being financially inaccessible to many folks who really need it.

In 2017, we made a company decision to lower our prices by 40-50% across the board. These are the everyday low prices we offer you today. We make this pricing always available, to all of our customers, rather than charge higher prices with frequent sales, discount coupons or promotions. We believe in removing barriers to accessing CBD. We also believe it is important to share our business philosophy and motives with our community of friends and customers- you keep Frogsong Farm alive and thriving!

The Frogs Are Back!
One evening last week, while out feeding the dogs, CEO and co-founder Chuck heard our farm’s namesake. It’s a sound we wait for every Spring: the native frogs are beginning to sing. Here’s an excerpt from a blog post we shared last March.
“Spring approaches in the Willamette Valley. Tucked away from the city lights and busy highways of Portland, the farm has been resting. Soil has frozen and thawed, compost piles have slowed their alchemy, spiny trees have gone to sleep. Inside the house the buzz of energy has continued through winter. Outside, the first hints of warmer days are emerging. Buds are forming on branches. It’s golden hour. Sunlight streams through the windows as dinner is served, in contrast to the deep black evenings of weeks past.

“Amidst the clinking of dishes and the hum of friendly banter another rhythm can be heard. There is a song coming from outside, floating out from the pond on the far corner of the property. The Pacific treefrogs are back. They’re accompanied by the Northern red-legged frogs (a protected species in Oregon) who’ve been competing with a band of American bullfrogs for years. Warming temps have stirred them from their cozy hideouts, an invitation to liven up. They stretch their springy legs. They fill their tiny lungs. A faint chirp, a raspy croak emerges. It is akin to the first “good morning” we mutter after sleeping in on a Saturday. Ahem. The tiny green conductor clears his throat and tries again. Do. Re. Mi. Fa. So. La. Ti. Do…”

We’ve made it through the year’s darkest days. Enjoy the quieter energy of late winter- a surge of Spring is just around the corner.
Warmly,
All of Us at Frogsong Farm
